Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and management of the Upper School Support Staff
    • School Counselor
    • 6-12 Administrative Assistant
  • Establishment, management, and communication of academic vision to all constituents:
    • Proactive communication of overall school goals pertaining to academics, to principals, teachers, students, parents, and the community at large.
  • Oversight and management of the comprehensive faculty evaluation processes including:
    • Provide consistent leadership for teacher observations and evaluation processes and system
    • Perform formal and informal teacher observation working alongside the Elementary Principal
    • File all records and documentation for staff certification and transcripts
    • Oversight of faculty improvement plans as necessary
    • Annual review of evaluation protocols and tools
    • Facilitate annual review meetings (final evaluations, retention decisions, promotion decisions) with administrative team
  • Oversight and facilitation of 6-12 Academic Support Systems, including:
    • Academic Support Systems:
      • Supervision of Academic Support Staff
      • Create and implement academic support plans for individual students in coordination with Academic Support Staff
      • Consult with Academic Support to maintain academic and behavior support plans
      • Work with parents going through evaluation and IEP process in coordination with Academic Support Staff
      • Run MS/HS Academic support meetings 2x per month
      • Attend IEP/504 meetings for students receiving or seeking services from other school districts

  • Oversight and management of faculty certification, both state certification and ACSI certification tracks including:
    • Management of CEU’s; mentoring teacher records and other items relating to faculty certification;
    • Regular review and management of certification records, deficiencies, and needs
    • Oversight of faculty certification plans as necessary

  • Title I/ Title IV:
    • Attend meetings at SMSD
    • Coordinate funding for professional development opportunities
    • Keep active roster of KCC students in SMSD district eligible for Title funds

  • Oversight and management for the following areas:
  • Testing Data:
    • Oversee annual standardized testing K-12: AP, PSAT, Pre-ACT, MAP
    • Algebra readiness testing
    • Maintain system of records for testing data
    • Develop and maintain strategy for using and communicating testing data to applicable constituents

  • Accreditation:
    • Co-chair with Elementary Principal
    • Coordinate plan for review prep
    • Facilitate teacher work
    • Student and teacher annual surveys
    • Review and complete annual accreditation reports including updating the SIP and Strategic Plan, gathering documentation for evidence for compliance report, updating staff certification reports for CSI and completing
  • Quality Assurance of New Teaching Staff:
    • Annual review of hiring practices and processes; application, interviews, guest teaching, etc.
    • Review of all applications and resumes for 6-12 teaching positions
    • Interview (with appropriate administrative team members) of all applicants for teaching positions
    • Establish pipelines of quality teaching applicants
      • Cultivate relationships with education department’s at identified institutions
      • Facilitate student-teacher opportunities at the school
    • Direct the new teacher program, providing training and support for first year teachers at the school

  • Management of 6-12 Teacher Evaluation and Promotion System:
    • Management of evaluation schedule for administrative team
    • Facilitate annual review meetings (final evaluations, retention decisions, promotion decisions) with administrative team
    • Oversight of performance benchmarks for all 6-12 faculty and staff.
    • Monday: Check all lesson plans, send emails, document for evaluation day
    • Check to ensure that teachers are putting their grades in (2 per week), send emails if needed, document for evaluation day.
    • Check to ensure grades are distributed evenly across grade categories

  • Management of Teacher Development in coordination with Amy M.:
    • Coordinate all teacher in-service days; start of year; quarterly; and end of year
    • Coordinate in-house professional development opportunities as established in academic strategic plan
    • Coordinate budget with Amy M. for outside professional development opportunities, and ensure these trainings are in line with academic vision
    • Oversee all teacher improvement plans, providing accountability, support and feedback
    • Collaborative Facilitation of Worldview and Spiritual Formation Systems:
    • Guide teachers in implementing Worldview into their classrooms
      • Including practical application
      • Including designated programs as determined by the Head of School

  • Oversight and Management of the K-12 Curriculum:
    • Management of Curriculum:
      • Create and maintain annual review cycle of curriculum, ensuring all subjects/courses are being examined on schedule
      • Annual review and update of philosophies, student learning objectives, resources, programs, and order of instructions for the yearly scheduled academic areas as defined by the curriculum review cycle
      • Maintain effective documentation of learning objectives and curriculum
      • Create High School Course Catalog, Middle School Curriculum Sequence, and Elementary Curriculum Sequence annually
      • Order all curriculum K-12 annually, sort all curriculum, and distribute all curriculum

  • Implementation of Curriculum, Resources, and Programs
    • Provide initial training and ongoing teacher support to ensure quality implementation
    • Measure outcomes of implementation
    • Academic Research:
      • Stay current on research and established best practices for teacher development, curriculum development, and educational psychology
    • Course Scheduling for MS and HS
    • Prepare all course scheduling worksheets for 6-12
    • Prepare Course Offering Presentation and present at parent night
    • Prepare Incoming Freshman Presentation and present at parent night after science fair
    • Create the Master Schedule and Room Usage for each school year
    • Create all courses in FACTS, assign rooms in FACTS, create schedule for all courses in FACTS
    • Audit all HS transcripts prior to creating any schedules
    • Create schedules for all HS courses
    • Oversee all MS schedules that Guidance Counselor and Administrative Assistant create
  • Oversight and Management of the Advanced Placement and Dual Credit Programs:
    • Coordinate all AP training sessions for AP teachers.
    • Oversee Guidance Counselor’s management of rostering and testing for the AP classroom
    • Oversee Guidance Counselor’s AP compliance for all AP courses with the College Board
    • Work with Dual Credit partners:Johnson County Community College, MidAmerica Nazarene University, and Evangel University
    • Select courses each spring for the upcoming year and verify with the partners
    • Ensure that all teachers are cleared to teach the proposed courses
    • Oversee the teachers and achieve approval for courses, syllabi, and expectations
    • Communicate opportunities to families
    • Work with students to register and pay for the courses
    • Check in weekly with the students and record grades for all approved courses
  • FACTS, Gradebook, and Report Cards:
    • Create and maintain profiles for all staff in FACTS
    • Train New Teachers
    • Create and maintain all auto reports from gradebook for FACTS
    • Troubleshoot any issues with new or current teachers
    • Keep up to date on changes within the FACTS system
    • Become an “expert” on all things FACTS to understand if we are fully utilizing the FACTS system
    • Verify that all gradebooks 6-12 follow all options, settings, and calculating requirements
    • Manually bump all honors, AP, and DC grades at the end of each semester
    • Send out report cards at the end of each quarter

  • Coordinate Foreign Exchange Student Program:
    • Work with partners to determine acceptance guidelines and success of potential students
    • Check in with students as needed to support their overall academics
    • Work with partners as needed for compliance and communicate status of overall success of student

  • High School Records and Compliance:
    • Stay current on Kansas Graduation Requirements and Kansas Qualified Admissions Requirements in order to guide updating graduation requirements
    • Keep KCC’s graduation requirements updated and rigorous
    • Maintain Parchment relationship and assist Guidance Counselor in records request as needed
    • Maintain compliance with NAIA and NCAA for course approval and complete for students seeking scholarships as needed with Guidance Counselor

  • Meetings:
    • Upper School Divisional Meeting: 2x per month (You Lead)

Lil’ PANTHERS PRESCHOOL LUNCH/REST SUPPORT STAFF

KCC Lil’ Panthers, a private Christian preschool, is looking for a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Lunch/Rest Support person in our Blue Room (younger classroom). This part-time position is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

As a private Christian preschool, we are committed to providing a nurturing environment where children grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Our goal is to support each child’s development while incorporating our Christian values into everyday learning.

The Lunch/Rest Support person will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and supporting students during lunch and rest breaks
  • Assisting children with unpacking and eating their lunches
  • Setting up and arranging cots throughout the classroom for naptime
  • Helping children with toothbrushing after lunch
  • Managing the classroom environment while children rest, ensuring safety and comfort
  • Sweeping floors, wiping down tables, and lifting chairs as needed
  • Maintaining a calm, quiet atmosphere while children relax or sleep

Previous childcare experience is preferred, but a positive attitude, patience, and a passion for working with young children are key to success in this role. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and able to support the needs of a diverse group of children in a classroom setting.

Physical requirements include the ability to move and arrange classroom furniture, clean up after meals, and assist children with physical tasks. The role involves standing, bending, and lifting as needed throughout the day.
